About Go Red for Women

Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association's national campaign to increase awareness of heart disease - the leading cause of death for women - and to inspire women to make the choice to take charge of their heart health. Its fundraising efforts support the educational programs that the American Heart Association provides and the life-saving research it funds to reduce the effects of heart disease in women.

Where The Money Goes

The American Heart Association, an inaugural recipient of the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance Seal, uses all revenues from local and national Go Red For Women activities to support awareness, research, education and community programs to fight the No.1 killer of women. Funds are allocated based on the overall spending guidelines of the American Heart Association, with over 21% spent on research, almost 40% on public health education, and 13% on educating healthcare professionals.
