The Cor Vitae Society is a community of like-minded individuals who are committed to making an impact in the lives of others through their support of the American Heart Association. The Society recognizes individuals for their annual and lifetime giving and serves as a platform to inspire others to join the fight to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. COR VITAE SPOTLIGHT
Maria Ramundo, MD and Joseph Hanna, MD found each other a long time ago. During their journey together, they have found an opportunity to connect together with the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. From Maria’s involvement at Akron Children’s Hospital in PALS and BLS, to Joe’s engagement around warfarin use for stroke prevention from atrial fibrillation, to present participation in the American Stroke Association Executive Council, they have helped fulfill their community goal of giving back to those who helped both of them fulfill their dreams. Each day, whether in the community or on rounds in the hospital, they see the fruits of the American Heart Association’s scientific advancements and community outreach. They give because the American Heart Association cares and delivers on their promises.
