Dr. Charles Modlin, M.D., MBA, Past President Cleveland Clinic Medical Staff, Member Board of Governors and Board of Trustees, is a Kidney Transplant Surgeon & Urologist and Executive Director Minority Health.  He founded & directs Cleveland Clinic’s Minority Men’s Health Center (MMHC) and in 2003 established Cleveland Clinic’s Annual Minority Men’s Health Fair and in 2011 was named by The Atlanta Post as one of the Top 21 Black Doctors in America.

He graduated from Northwestern University and Northwestern University Medical School and completed a six-year residency in Urology at New York University, a three-year fellowship in kidney transplantation surgery at Cleveland Clinic and joined the Cleveland Clinic Staff in 1996.  He is a noted national leader for the eliminating health disparities.  Honors are numerous and include Ohio Governors Appointments to the Ohio Commission on Minority Health, Northwestern University Presidential Alumni Medal, 2007 MLK Cleveland & Cleveland Orchestra Community Service Award, Call & Post 100 Top Influential Leaders, Cleveland Magazine Best Doctors, 2016 Crains Cleveland Health Care Heroes Award, Cleveland Clinic Bruce Hubbard Stewart Humanitarianism Award, and 2015 Black Professional Association Professional of the Year recognition among many others.

He serves or has served on many boards and committees including the National Board of the National Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association Advisory Board, LifeBanc, MOTTEP, NAACP, 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland, Urban League of Greater Cleveland, Cleveland Foundation Community Advisory Board, Health Legacy of Cleveland, Shaker Schools Foundation, Business Volunteers Unlimited, Bellflower Center for the Prevention Against Child Abuse, among many others.
